"BARACK THE WARRIOR" - April 09
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

Well by now, we are all coming off a historical “high” the election of our first African American President Barack Obama. Many of you felt just like I did; “I just couldn’t believe that it really happened... A Black man elected to the highest position that man can appoint here on earth, President of the United States of America.

When we look back over the chain of events that occurred for Barack to become president, I can’t help but to think about the story of Barack in the bible. Oh, you know, the story… In the book of Judges Chapter 4 and 5 tell the history of Barack in the bible.

Let’s go deep into bible country for a brief moment. Let me start by saying, Deborah and Barack delivered Israel. Barack had been summons by Prophetess Deborah, who said to him; “we must go to war against Sisera”. Now, this is one of many stories in the bible that shows you how God does use women when and where He wants to. Deborah was a Judge in fact she was the 4th judge of 13. Besides being a judge she was highly anointed and appointed for such a time as this, she was also a Prophetess (one of 4 mentioned in the bible).

As the story goes…Israel had slipped back deep in sin, worshipping idol gods. Often time the people of Israel sounds just like some of us today…constantly backsliding! Anyway, the Canaanites treated the Israelites really bad, they even took away their manhood treating them like (chumps) if you will.

Although Barack’s army was only about 10,000 – Barack said to Deborah, okay if you go with me then we will go to war and Deborah said, “yes”. In the end, God is going to deliver Sisera in the hands of a woman. So as you read on about Barack in the bible it sounds a lot like Barack when he first started out on his campaign trail. Folks laughed at Barack when he announced that he would be running for president. People said he didn’t have enough experience, money, time and talent but Barack kept on moving forward. Then God sent Barack, Oprah (his Deborah).

Well, you know, the rest of the story. Even though Barack’s army was out numbered they went to war. Deborah said to Barack, “ up, for this is the day; which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand; is not the Lord gone out before they?” (Judges 4:14) Even though it seemed impossible for Barack and his army to win, he pressed his way through with his army and they won against 900 iron chariots (Barack and his army had no chariots) and Sisera army had twice the men in manpower of Barack.

This election should be a reminder to everyone, when it seems like everything is going against you, put your had in God’s hand. God always has a ram in the bush and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Especially in your darkest hour. I want to encourage you to read Judges chapters 4 and 5 for the full story of Deborah the Prophetess an Barack the Warrior. Also, you will find that Barack is mentioned in Hebrews 11:32, about his faithfulness. The question I leave you with, “Will you be as faithful as Barack when so many things are going against you?”

"The Real Stimulus Plan" - April 09
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

There is no greater thrill than seeing the power of God moving in some supernatural way! Many of us felt the move of God when Barrak Obama became the President of the United States. We are in awe when we see someone climb out of a wheelchair or find freedom from the bondage of sin. When those miraculous moments come, praise erupts from our hearts into the heavens. It’s easy to give glory to God and to shout hallelujah when He moves on our behalf in response to our desperate need. But what of those time when we prayed and besought God without obvious result? What do we do in those times when we really need God to move in healing or provision or our behalf, but He seems to be busy with something more important? Was there ever a day in you life when you prayed and told God that you needed that check to arrive in the mail today, and it didn’t? Have you ever experienced a season when you needed a word from God, but your prayers rebounded off the wall the way a ball does, when you hit it against the wall? Have you ever stayed up all night with a sick child, begging God for a touch of His hand? Yes, I think we all have seen those days and seasons. And it is how we respond in these times of seeming delay that demonstrates how well we know God.

We in today’s society have become accustomed to instant solutions for everything. Family times around the table have been replaced by microwave meals eaten on the run to the next activity. When it comes to God, our problem is that we expect Him to be our cosmic Internet server from which we can download help for our every dilemma. And if God does not come through with instant relief, we begin to question our “connection” to heaven. When we have to wait on God, it seems as though a chasm forms between our need and His compassion – a gulf filled with agony and apathy. As we stand at the rim of this canyon, our hearts respond with either fear or faith, depending on what we believe about God. If we believe God to be loving and involved, then we will tend toward faith. But if we believe God to be are off and removed, then we will be afraid. Not to mention to agony of waiting when we asked the Lord to move on behalf of our children.

Such as the dire circumstance of Jairus, the president or the ruler of the synagogue, and his only daughter, who are mention in the Gospels. Jairus had a need that his spiritual, political, economic, or social influence could not fill. In this time of great need, Jairus was moved from great fear to greater faith.

“And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw Him, he fell at His feet, and besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay they hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.”( Mark 5:22-23) I want to encourage you to read (Mark 5: 21-43) to get the full beauty of this story. We are always trying to put Jesus in a box! He can do more than one thing at a time.

Jairus had heard Jesus teach many times. Indeed, as ruler of the synagogue, it was Jairus who gave Jesus opportunity to speak. And when Jesus spoke, old scrolls came to life, their words becoming more than the ritual recitation to which the people had grown accustomed. In the background were complaints from Jairus’ fellow Pharisees picking apart and distorted the words of the Master. Some of them even said that Jesus Himself had demons. But despite what his fellow Pharisees were saying Jairus saw something in Jesus. There was a growing awareness in Jairus’ heart that the warmth and compassion of God were resident within Jesus. In the synagogue, Jairus had witness Jesus healing and correct different manners of sickness under His gentle hands. So Jairus made his way through the crowd and collapsed at Jesus’ feet. He looked up at Jesus and ask Him to come help his daughter that was dying. Jesus motion to Jairus to lead the way. As they were on their way to Jairus house so Jesus could see his daughter, a woman’s hand came through the crowd and grabbed hold of Jesus garment. Jesus stopped and completely turned away from Jairus, Jesus attention was now on the woman who grabbed Him, (the woman with the issue of blood). Once Jesus was finished with the woman He turned back to Jairus only to hear some men who had came up to Jairus and said it’s too late your daughter is dead. Well, you know the rest of the story. Jesus made it to Jairus house and went into the room where she laid, Jesus took her hand and said, “Little girl, it’s time to get up.” And at once she awoke and sat up. God wants us to know, He may stop along the way coming to your need, but God is never too late!

I want you to know that we already have a “Stimulus Plan in effect it’s our heavenly Father, who sent His only begotten Son Jesus, to died for our sins! Our Stimulus Plan Jesus has a two part solution to the problems of our fear. If we are to settle the issue of fear, we must follow the same instructions He gave to Jairus. “Be Not Afraid….” That may be more easily said than done when we are in the middle of a problem. Our greatest fear is that God does not care about us. We’re afraid He won’t hear us or pay attention to our needs. And the source of that fear is our not knowing the heart of God. When God does not answer our prayers when and how we believe He should, we feel that He has turned His back on us just as Jesus’ back was turned toward Jairus when He (Jesus) stopped for the woman who had the issue of blood. Actually Jesus had not turn His back on Jairus need; He had stopped to acknowledge another need along the way. Secondly, fear comes because we put human limits on God. In the Bible Jesus is often saying to someone “Don’t you trust Me” or “Be not Afraid” or “I”ll be with you always” If we stop trying to determine what God can and can not do, then and only then we will truly discover we already have the real Stimulus Plan it’s God! "Show The World Who Jesus Is" - Dec 08
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

The World is searching for the way, the truth, and the life. It is looking for people who know who Jesus is. Christians should not be depressed or hopeless like nonbelievers. This doesn’t mean we won’t go through difficult times. But when we go through our difficulties, we go through them dancing and praising God. We have a testimony. We’re not stuck - - we’re coming out!

Everything we do should honor the Lord. When we go to our jobs, we should go honoring the Lord. It’s a shame when Christians in the workplace have their lips stuck out further than the people who aren’t saved.

The world is watching us! We say we’re different. We say we’re saved. Yet, too often we fall out of spirit and into the flesh with our words and actions, just as fast as nonbelievers. Everyday our lives should show a difference. And people should see something different about us, we should stand out with the glow of Jesus Christ written all over our face. Many people can’t image this Jesus we are talking about. They must see our transformed lives. They’re looking at our actions and reactions. When Christians honor the Lord at all times, it’s a rebuke to the enemy. It messes the devil up!

It’s easy to conduct yourself in a manner that glorifies God when everything is going well. But the real Christian will come out when you don’t have and can still praise HIM in the morning, noonday, evening and at midnight yes, will the real Christian please stand up. Stand up in hard times because you know our God will never leave you are forsake you. And if your in a storm it’s only a test. Will you pass the test? Or will the real flesh in you stand out?

Why did God allow the devil to “test” Job? He allowed it because there is no testimony without a test. Too many people sitting in church won’t take the test and pass it. Passing the test takes us to a higher level in Christ. We can’t go to the next level until we pass the test. When we operate by the Word of God, we can pass the test.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.” (John 8:31) All over the world churches are filled with people who lack discipline. These individuals are not compelled to study or meditate on the Word of God consistently. When you continue in the Word of God, you become a disciple. Disciples are diligent, steadfast, disciplined followers of Christ. As a disciple, you must recognize that the most important thing in your life is following the ways and instructions of God. The only means by which this can be accomplished is to continue in His Word.

If Christians are going to show the world who Jesus is we can’t be “fair weather saints.” Fair weather Saints believe God’s Word as long as situations in their lives are going well. In other words, we have saints that really ain’t!! Mature saints understand that the Word of God causes us to be planted like a tree by the rivers of water (Psalm 1:3) And we won’t be moved no matter what is going on in our lives.

I’ve learned as an Evangelist, that observing people’s actions is a far better indicator of their commitment than listening to what they say. When you are proud about who you are, you show it in your life at all times. Whatever you represent, you carry yourself that way, you know how today our young men that are caught up in gang banging’ they look, talk, dress to reflect who they are. As Christian are you living your life to reflect who and whose you are? Remember, you need to at all times….show the world who Jesus is after all He’s got your back, put on your whole armor. Remember to show the world who Jesus is through you. Because somebody is watching you at all times and what you represent.

"We All Have Issues" - July 08
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

The enemy will try anything to prevent you from moving beyond your issues, just as he did with the woman with the issue of blood. This woman of determination, willing to fight her way through any obstacle standing between her and her healing, had just enough strength for her outstretched hand to barely touch the hem of Christ’s garment, which immediately brought her freedom.

Like her, you can be free of the shame and bondage of your issues. Issues, is one of the most challenging journeys you will ever take; a journey from rejection to acceptance, from fear to faith, from a shattered life to wholeness, serving as your guide.

There is one issues running rapid in the Body of Christ. That is the issue of “pride”. Some of us have come from a long way only to forget that long road we took. Or that road being the reason we keep an attitude with people.

Let’s look at the story of Naaman; He was the successful commander-in-chief of Syria’s army; he had received many military honors and had known much good fortune. But this wealthy, successful military personality had a problem that preempted all of his accomplishments. He was a leper. This disease was the AIDS of his day. It was for the most part incurable, painful, and eventually terminal.

In the nation of Israel, a person infected with leprosy was set apart for seven days to be observed by the priests. If the symptoms did not go away, the infected person would have to leave the love and security of his family and live outside the camp or city, in total separation. Lepers were separated so that they would not infect others and bring danger to the rest of the camp. The instructions were quite clear; “Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper.” (Numbers 5:2) However, since Naaman was not of Israel, but Syria, with leprous condition Naaman was not excluded from other people. Well you know how the story goes, his wife had a maidservant who had been captured in a border between Syria & Israel. The maidservant spoke to Naaman wife saying “Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! For he would recover him of his leprosy.” (2 King 5:3) Through the word of a servant, God would bring healing not only of leprosy, but also of Naaman’s chief issue which was pride.

So here came Naaman the great commander of Syrian host with many brave warriors on white horse, they arrive at the door of Elisha, the prophet of God. He was met at the door by another servant that told him to go and wash in the Jordan River and to dip himself not once but seven times. That was it for Naaman, first to have a maidservant speak to his wife now a servant answering the door, telling him to go wash in a muddy little river. Naaman thought the Prophet Elisha would just come out and wave his hand over him and everything would be alright! But not so; This brave and fearless warrior was led to the very door of healing, but he chose to turn and walk away simply because of pride. What is pride? Pride is an attitude that allows us a high opinion of abilities or ourselves. Pride is the belief that we are somehow above other people. As the Bible say, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) Pride is the opposite of humility. And we know to well, it was pride that turned Lucifer away from God to worship himself, as we read in (Ezekiel 28:2) Pride was the issue that almost kept Naaman from being healed of leprosy. We must be healed from the issue of “pride” pride that keeps us living in our carnal strength. Without healing, we die a little at a time. We all need to discover how we to can touch the hem of His garment and be set free from pride. Dr. Evangelist P.M. "Warning... Deception Brings Delay" - October 07
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

Let’s go back to the story of Jacob….he found has wife, Rachel – but he had to serve his uncle, Laban (Rachel’s father) for fourteen years. He worked seven years, and then Laban gave Jacob his daughter, Leah, instead of Rachel. (Gen. 29:1-25).

You know the story….a week later, he let Jacob marry Rachel, but Jacob had to work seven more years. Deception brought a delay in Jacob’s plans. The same spirit of deception Jacob had operated under with Esau transferred to Laban. After they got married, Jacob and Rachel discovered they couldn’t have children. Eleven children were born to Jacob by three other women: Leah, her handmaid, and Rachel’s handmaid. Then God opened Rachel’s womb. (Gen. 29:31- & 30:24). The bible says; “Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb. And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.” So she called his name Joseph, and said, “The Lord shall add to me another son.”

Could it be that the church is suffering from an attitude of “may he add?” In other words, many are saying, Look what I have…I want more.” I say if that’s the case; an undisciplined, up-purged state of mind always hides a spirit of deception. I thank God for His goodness, because there are times that He “add” His blessing, even though deception is lurking deep down in our heart. Genesis 30:43 says that Jacob became “exceedingly rich”…but God still had a work to complete in him. You know, the spirit of transference is powerful. After Jacob fulfilled his fourteen years with Laban, he decided to leave secretly with his family. That’s when Rachel decided to steal an idol from her father’s house. When Laban discovered Jacob and his family were gone and caught up with them, Rachel lied about what she had done when Laban came to her tent (Gen 31:19-33, 34-37). Without knowing Rachel took the idol, Jacob told Laban the person who stole the idol should die (Gen 31:32). Deception not only causes delay, it will get you into even deeper trouble. Jacob served Laban for twenty years before returning to the land of his father (Gen 31:36-55) – God’s process still wasn’t over, Jacob was still walking the same way he walked before going to Haran.

We can’t break past the “mess” our character has done in the past. Some people think it doesn’t matter if their spirit is ugly, or they tell lies, gossip and even if their motives aren’t right. But it does matter to God. If you fall into deception, you could be in for a long process before God’s promise comes to pass in your life.

Are you deceived? One way the enemy tries to keep you operating in deception is by convincing you that you don’t need to submit to anyone’s authority. Who has God assigned to oversee you spiritually? To whom do you grant the freedom to speak freely about whom you are and the things you do? Who do you trust to tell you when something you do doesn’t reflect God’s character? Jacob had a good authority figure; has father, Isaac. But when he joined with his mother Rebekah and tricked his authority figure, it sent Jacob spiraling into a life of deception that cost him a decade of grief. Every believer needs a godly leader to check his or her spirit. Jacob tricked his leader and ended up serving a man who lacked godly character. Laban was a leader, but he was also a deceiver. One of the main responsibilities of a leader is to stay on his or her face in prayer. Laban was so busy trying to find new ways to trick Jacob; it’s not likely that he spent much time before God. Too often we see church leaders, pastor and ministries that have no power in their spirit. Miracles are not breaking forth in the Church today because of deception. Too many leaders and church members are living under its power. Instead of seeking God and receiving what He has for us, we are acting like Jacob and Laban: trying to steal another person’s mantle or anointing. Let me explain; when you see that Sister Lewis has a powerful prayer ministry and you try to copy what she does, you are trying to steal God’s anointing upon her life. Why would I say that? Authentic ministry comes from being in the presence of God….we can’t manufacture the anointing. We must remember God is not mocked! God is doing a spiritual house cleaning and exposing the spirit of deception. Everyone has some kind of spiritual house cleaning that needs to be done, whether it’s working on your gossiping, cheating, stealing someone else anointing or down right deceiving someone everyday. "What Season Are You In?" - July 07
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

There’s no doubt about it. We will go through different seasons in our lifetime. It’s part of living a Christian life. Nobody every said that once you gave your life to Christ, it would be easy, and you wouldn’t have anymore problems. In fact, it becomes more of a challenge everyday of your life. Satan will try to ride your back as much as possible because he wants you to give up and not believe as a Christian should. But remember, Satan can only ride your back if you bend over and let him ride!

We are all charged to “Win Souls for Christ” and that means in season and out of season. 2 Timothy 3:2 verse reads; “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” Unfortunately, in this day and time more preachers, teachers, and evangelist want to appeal to “itching ears” (2 Timothy 4:3) “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.

We are usually going through a storm, coming out of a storm or getting ready to go into a storm. We must be ready each morning as we walk out to have our “full armor of God” on for whatever may come our way each day. We never know when we might run into someone that has been a selected “assignment from God” for the day. Or a spiritual test to reach out and help someone. You know, many of us desire the Lord’s presence and carefully express our petition and need for comfort. But, are we ready, expectantly waiting and listening for our Lord’s response? Do we take time to be quiet in the Lord’s presence, to hear His voice speak to us? If the Lord chooses to respond through a friend, stranger or event, do we, or would we recognize the response? Being able to discern God’s presence with us and His purpose for our lives involves the discipline not only of waiting patiently, but to have our spirits ready to receive. Spiritual readiness come through strengthening ourselves with the Word of God, through fellowship and worship with the people of God. And we can not forget daily communion with God. If we do these things we will be prepared no matter what season we are in.

As you know, Solomon was so well spoken, people traveled for days just to hear him read poetry. He was kind’a like a modern day Luther Van Dross with words and lyrics. It is written best in the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3:1-8. As Solomon reflects on all of life, he expresses in a beautiful poem of 14 pairs of opposite events that God has a sovereign design behind all events. (Eccl. 3:1-8) “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

As we journeyed through life we traced the Spirit of God in action. The Spirit that can change the lives of people and deliver us from days of uncertainty to days of grace. You see, by living a life that reflects the God’s goodness, we affect other people’s lives. We get closer to God’s kingdom when we become the agents of God’s unfailing grace and mercy. Make an impact in this world, no matter what season you are in. And in order to do that we must follow the qualities of life lived in God’s goodness: true, just, honorable, pure, pleasing, praiseworthy, and excellent. What quality of life are you living? It will make a world of difference whatever Season you are in with your life. Dr. P.M. "First Fruits & Worship God" - August 06
By Evangelist P.M. Wynn Grove

Are you remembering your first fruits, and that GOD should come first?

In acknowledgement of the fact that all the products of the land came from God, and thankfulness for HIS goodness, Israelites brought as an offering to HIM a portion of the fruits that ripened first, these being looked upon as an earnest of the coming harvest. Such an offering was made on behalf of the nation (Lev. 23: 10, 17) and by individuals (Exod. 23:19); and (Deut. 26:1-11). These first fruits went for the support of the priesthood. I’d like to park for a minute at (Deut. 26:10-11) “And now, behold I have brought the first fruits of the land, which thou, O Lord, hast given me. And thou shall set it before the Lord they God, and worship before the Lord thy God: (11) And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the Lord thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.”

It is so important as we live our lives to remember who is making it all possible. To GOD be the glory! Often as Christians we get discourage about our finances. But ask yourself the question are you really giving GOD your first fruits? Or are your giving based on what’s left after you pay your bills? Keep in mind, when you truly have faith and believe that GOD will supply all your needs HE will make a way out of no way. If you put GOD first especially with your finances HE will do the rest. After giving, don’t second guess or complain about what you have given….GOD knows your heart and hears all of your thoughts; After giving of your first fruits you can’t forget the worship of HIS goodness, grace and mercy. (1 Chr 16:29) says it best, “Give unto the Lord the glory due unto HIS name: bring an offering, and come before HIM: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness”. (Ps 95:6) O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. (Ps 96:6) O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” And finally, (Jn 4:24) God is a spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Doing the right thing doesn’t come without doubting thoughts from the flesh. A so call friend might say to you; “I can’t give that much to the church, I believe the pastor is putting that money in his pocket” or I ain’t gonna help pay for his new car. Don’t worry about what my come of the money, because God will hold them all accountable for their actions and your money that is put into the church. My brothers and sister conditions of fruit bearing has great rewards and only what you do for Christ will last! There is contact with the Living Water; (Ps 1:3) “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brigeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. You will also receive Spiritual Receptvity; (Mt. 13:23) But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also bearth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Just remember we must keep Abiding in Christ; (Jn 15:5) I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. Living for Christ gives us spiritual liberty and we are God’s servants. (Ro 6:23)”But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”

No matter how tight your finances might be remember the Lord should always come first. If your money is only Welfare HE made it possible put HIM first. If your money is disability HE made that possible put HIM first if your money is unemployment HE made it possible put HIM first and give HIM your first fruits. Because you can’t beat God’s giving in return!
